without the collective efforts of our students, teachers, staff, and, of course, you, our valued parents. From academic triumphs to artistic endeavors, athletic victories to personal growth, Carman-Buckner Elementary School has truly thrived as a vibrant hub of learning and inspiration.
As we eagerly anticipate the upcoming school year, I would like to emphasize the paramount importance of attendance for the 23-24 academic year. Consistent attendance lays the foundation for academic success and provides your child with invaluable opportunities to engage, grow, and learn. We kindly request your continued commitment to ensuring regular attendance, as it has a profound impact on your child's overall educational experience.
I also wanted to inform you that there is still an opportunity for students to enroll in our enriching summer school program. If your child could benefit from additional academic support or wants to explore new subjects during the summer break, please don't hesitate to contact Ms. Lichtenstein at 224-303-1564. Summer school presents a valuable chance for students to bridge any gaps, strengthen their skills, and embrace continuous learning.
Furthermore, we strongly encourage all students to engage in summer reading at home. Reading is a fundamental skill that contributes to cognitive development, vocabulary expansion, and critical thinking abilities. By encouraging your child to read regularly during the summer, you will foster a lifelong love of learning and set them up for success in the years to come.
We are also excited to announce the availability of seats in our STARS Summer Camp, which will run from June 5th to June 29th, starting at 12:00 noon and concluding at 3:30 PM. This fun-filled program offers a wide range of engaging activities and valuable learning experiences. If you would like to your child to participate, please email Mr. Mike Gonzalez at
[email protected]. Spaces are limited, so be sure to secure a spot for your child as soon as possible.
Moreover, Carman-Buckner Elementary School greatly values the active involvement of parents and guardians in our school community. We rely on dedicated volunteers to support various events, activities, and initiatives throughout the year. PreK: 1st Semester: September-December: AM students will be in attendance on early release dates and PM students will have asynchronous learning.
PreK: 2nd Semester: January-May: AM students will have asynchronous learning, and PM students will be in attendance.
